Cold Air Intake
Parts list
1 gallon can 6" diameter x 8" height
300ZX( late 80's) air filter housing, hose & clamps
2 stock Quest air cleaner lids.
Parts from a late 80's 300ZX: air cleaner box & hose (cut to fit).
Cold air intake setup in car.
First I used a 1 gallon can with both ends cut out.
Trim (extra) stock lid to fit in can. Tack weld and seal seam and remaining holes.
Here you will need to cut out sheet metal and relocate charcoal canister.
Location of 300ZX filter, the top mounting bracket even lines up!
View from underneath, I still need to connect hose from the air dam to air can.
At least it's not sucking in 200+ degree air! I still have some more details to add (like air can lid clamps and gasket) but so far it took about 2 hours after rounding up the parts.
